BADIA DEL VALLÈS BAPTIZES ITS AUDITORIUM IN HONOR OF EL MAGO POP

Badia del Vallès City Council has baptized the municipal auditorium with the name of its most international neighbour, the illusionist Antonio Díaz, El Mago Pop. The mayoress, Eva Menor, explains that El Mago Pop makes clear that "talent, excellence and culture are very present in Badia del Vallès”. For Antonio, who has broken all the box office records in the world of magic, the recognition of his neighbors is something very symbolic. As he does in his last show, the magician has vindicated his origins: "For me Badia is everything and possibly I wouldn't be a magician if I hadn't been born and raised in this city."

In this act of homage, people from the municipality who are part of Antonio Díaz's life and professional career, such as Eva Tabe, his first theater director, or Adolfo Márquez, an old man from the town who awakened the passion for magic to Antonio by performing tricks on him in a bar when Antonio was just a child. The actor from Sabadell Noé Blancafort, Díaz's childhood friend; comedian Carlos Latre or the singers Ramon Mirabet and Joan Dausà, who have put music to his shows. The Barça coach, Xavi Hernández, and the club player and also the son of Badia del Vallès, Sergio Busquets, were also present at the tribute through a video. The mayoress, Eva Menor, has acted as the master of ceremonies to the surprise of the magician himself, who has discovered a new facet of her childhood friend.

Antonio Díaz thanked the City Council for the recognition and was moved to remember his passage through the space that now bears his name. He says that, on that same stage, he did his first magic shows: "I have spent many hours here." Now more than ever, after touring stages around the world, El Mago Pop values the gesture of his people. "It is a way to return the generosity that he has with us," defended the mayoress. During the act, Menor has also advanced that Antonio Díaz will make an economic contribution to the city for the culture promotion.
